Giving Your Bot Special Abilities
A tool is like an "extra skill" that your bot can use to do more than just talk. Instead of just saying "I can help you with that," tools allow the bot to actually go and look up information for your customer.
Available Tools
We offer a few core tools that you can turn on or off for each of your bots:
🔍 Product Search
This tool allows the bot to search your Shopify store. If a customer asks, "Do you have any red shoes?", the bot will use this tool to find matching products and show them directly in the chat.
📦 Order Tracking
This is the most popular tool. It allows customers to ask, "Where is order #1234?". The bot will then check your connected store and give them a real-time update on their shipping status.
How to Enable Tools
You can manage your bot's abilities in the Skills section of the dashboard:
- Select your bot.
- Click on the Tools tab.
- Switch the toggle to Enabled for the tools you want your bot to use.
By giving your bot the right tools, you turn it from a simple chat bot into a powerful automated assistant that can handle the most common customer requests without any help from you!
